The Final Newsletter of 2025 + A Stealth Project Reveal

Discover the next era of architecture and a powerful conversation on how AI can elevate, not replace, the architect’s role.

Hey there!

What a journey this year has been!

As the year draws to a close, this marks our final newsletter and we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made together in the world of AI and architecture.

Our 2025 Milestones

It has been a year packed with learning, sharing, and connecting. Here’s a quick snapshot of what we achieved:

  • 12 AI for Architects podcast episodes released

  • 100-page comprehensive research report published

  • 12 informative newsletters delivered including this one

  • 4 engaging talks delivered on AI in architecture

  • Tons of meaningful connections made with passionate individuals like you

My 4 Biggest AI Takeaways From the Year

Sharing knowledge has been a core goal for me. After many discussions, interviews, and experiments, these are the four lessons I’m carrying into the new year:

  1. AI is a Personal Journey: Don’t follow trends blindly. The key is to activate tools that solve your problems, create your opportunities, and improve your specific efficiencies.

  2. Be a Responsible AI User: Technology amplifies everything, good or bad. You must continue to fact-check, double-check, and verify every output.

  3. AI Needs Quality Assurance: To use AI effectively, you must know your subject matter really well. You have to earn the right to push the easy button. Avoid producing sloppy work or relying on AI to generate long documents without rigorous review.

  4. AI Cannot Replace the Human Experience: My biggest takeaway is this: build connection and community. Human-to-human learning, trust, and collaboration will be our driving focus for 2026.

Speaking of connection and community… I’m working on something big and it’s currently in stealth mode.

  • Hint 1: It’s designed to help architecture firm owners run better businesses in the AI era.

  • Hint 2: It’s happening in Australia

More details coming soon.

🎧 New Podcast Episode: AI in AEC: From Knowledge Management to Intelligent Workflows

What does it take to build a culture where knowledge becomes a firm’s greatest competitive advantage?

In this episode, Aya Schlachter sits down with Christopher Parsons, founder and CEO of Knowledge Architecture, the team behind Synthesis and the KA Connect conference, to unpack how knowledge management has transformed the AEC industry over the past 15 years.

From the early days of simply capturing information to today’s AI-powered systems that weave knowledge directly into workflows, Chris shares how firms can design intentional learning infrastructures that scale, strengthen teams, and future-proof their practice. He also offers a behind-the-scenes look at Synthesis’s new AI search platform, now used by over 80 firms, along with real case studies that show what’s possible when knowledge becomes strategy, not storage.

Key takeaways:

  • Knowledge management has evolved from capturing information to integrating it seamlessly into daily workflows.

  • AI makes firm-wide knowledge instantly searchable, improving speed, accuracy, and decision-making.

  • High-performing firms treat knowledge as infrastructure rather than scattered documents or files.

  • Career growth often comes from curiosity and leveraging opportunities during industry transitions.

  • Intentional knowledge systems give firms a competitive edge by shifting from reactive to proactive operations.

  • Learning management systems (LMS) support onboarding, role transitions, and project-specific training.

  • Firms should prioritize capturing only the knowledge that truly drives impact, not everything.

  • Successful adoption of knowledge platforms requires aligned champions from both business and practice teams, but upkeep becomes minimal once established.
